Description
Support your baby’s visual and cognitive development with high contrast baby cards.
Your baby’s vision is quite blurry in their first few months. Their eyes can better distinguish between sharp contrasts, such as the colors black and white.
We designed this FREE set of high contrast pattern cards for babies, perfect for newborns and young babies to look at while their eyesight is still developing.
Using high contrast images like these can provide enough stimulation and entertainment for your baby, while their little brain and eyes develop in these important early months of life. They should capture their attention for short periods of time.
How to use them?
These are great to implement during tummy time! Lay your baby on a mat and you can prop a card, two, or even three. Just leave the cards on the play mat or tape them to a vertical surface in front of your baby to encourage them to lift their head. Or you can place them on the wall next to your change table for baby to look at while you change their nappy. This can be a great option to encourage your baby to turn their head to a particular side if you need to prevent a flat spot in a young baby.
Try and keep it within 20-30cm from your baby, because that’s the sweet spot for their visual focus! (You can think of it as the distance between your baby’s face and your own when you’re cradling your little one.)
